Sidi Chiker
The Commune of Sidi Chiker is located approximately 80 km from the city of Safi and 90 km from Marrakech. The rural commune of Sidi Chiker is attached to the Caidate of Sidi Chiker, Ahmar Circle, in the Wilaya of Safi and Region of Doukkala-Abda. The surrounding communes are Ras-Ain-Jnane Bouih (Wilaya of Safi) to the north, M’Zoudia (Chichaoua Province) to the south, Sid-Zouin (Wilaya of Marrakech) to the east and Ighoud (Wilaya of Safi) to the west. It covers a surface area of nearly 660 Km2.
Over a total of some 60 000 ha, the exploitable agricultural acreage represents nearly 75%, of which only 2% is irrigated. The soil types are split up into Hamri (40%), Hrach (40%) and Samih (20%). The legal statute of the land indicates four different categories: collective (98.2%), Melk (0.4%), Habous (0.3%) and State domains (1.1%).
