Over the centuries, thousands of individuals practicing asceticism and spirituality used to gather together once a year to the south of Marrakech at a place called Sidi Chiker, today in the Wilaya of Safi or Ribat Châkir in historical literature.

For what reasons these Sidi Chiker get-togethers?
The Moroccan sultans throughout the centuries have shown specific interest in the site of Sidi Chiker. Bearing witness to this are the restorations made during different epochs of the resident mosque.

Today, the national and international Sidi Chiker encounters strive to give homage to this tradition, an initiative open to rekindling well beyond any idea of belonging, but remaining at the service and the benefit of all individuals and bodies working for the common good and taking inspiration from ethics drawn from faith.
